What We Do ?
STCs
STCs, or Small-Scale Technology Certificates, are credits awarded for installing eligible renewable energy systems, including solar panels, solar water heaters, and heat pumps. These certificates are issued by accredited providers such as Growmore Trade. To claim STCs, installations must comply with regulatory standards and be verified by Growmore Trade before submission to the Clean Energy Regulator (CER). The number of STCs a system qualifies for is determined by its kW capacity, postcode, and installation date, which can be calculated using the STC Calculator.
VEECs
A VEEC, or Victorian Energy Efficiency Certificate, represents the reduction of one tonne of greenhouse gas emissions. These certificates, also known as credits, are generated through the implementation of eligible energy efficiency activities or installations. Accredited providers like Growmore Trade are responsible for issuing VEECs once these activities have been completed and verified. The VEECs are an integral part of Victoria's efforts to reduce carbon emissions and promote energy efficiency across the state, supporting both environmental goals and regulatory compliance.
ESCs
ESCs, or Energy Saving Certificates, are a key component of the NSW Energy Savings Scheme, designed to encourage the replacement of outdated electric or gas hot water systems with more efficient and environmentally friendly options like heat pumps or solar water heaters. This incentive is aimed at both residential and small business sites across New South Wales. To participate in this scheme, companies must employ accredited plumbers and electricians who have completed the necessary induction process. This ensures that installations are carried out to the highest standards and in compliance with the scheme’s requirements, ultimately contributing to energy savings and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

1. What is an STC?
Small-scale Technology Certificates (STCs) are tradable assets linked to eligible installations of renewable energy systems, such as solar panels, solar water heaters, and heat pumps. Under the Federal Government’s Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme (SRES), installing an eligible system allows you to claim a specified number of STCs.
2. What is an STC worth?
The value of an STC fluctuates with supply and demand, influenced by factors such as the annual target, creation rates, and the liabilities of obligated entities. As STCs are tradable, their worth can vary daily. However, you can rely on Growmore Trade to set the price for you once we have your forms correctly processed. 3. Do I need to register with Growmore Trade to claim STC payments?
If you are claiming the STC payment as the property owner, registration with Growmore Trade is not required. Just ensure the STC Assignment Form is completed in full and include your bank account details for direct deposit payments. However, installers, suppliers, and builders who wish to trade STCs regularly will need to complete an account application form to set up a trading account. Please contact our office, and we will provide you with the necessary forms.
4. How do they allocate a number of STCs to systems?
The number of STCs is determined by the amount of electricity, measured in megawatt hours (MWh), generated or displaced by your system:
For small-scale solar panels, wind, or hydro systems: The STCs are based on the total electricity generated over the system's lifetime, which can be up to 15 years.
For solar water heaters or heat pumps: The STCs are calculated based on the amount of electricity displaced over the system's lifetime, which can be up to 10 years.
